Automotive Labeling Solutions - Volkswaqen Composite Set
At the recent Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, Flexo-Graphics demonstrated a new composite set labeling solution for car battery applications. The design of the composite set labeling solution allows the battery master distributor to easily and accurately apply a set of labels to the Volkswagen product.
This particular solution allowed the distribution centers to go from ordering and stocking seven labels to just one composite set which included visually instructive graphics for accurate label placement.
"The customer sent our art department a great thank you letter," said Mike McDonough, Executive VP of Sales, "expressing delight with the increase in efficiency and reduction of cost provided by the labeling soliution."
Composite Sets Cut Costs in Many Ways:
Flexo-Graphics provides composite sets in sheets or roll form. The composite design saves money via production efficiencies and lower procurement costs:
- Fewer SKUs to design, order, ship and inventory
- Less product engineering and fewer revisions
- Mistake free label application methods - no recalls due to labels
- Lowest cost per individual label
The composite set design is perfect for branding or promotional labeling applications in a variety of industries such as consumer electronics, appliances, industrial products, sport/recreational vehicles, marine, and automotive. The designs can be used with variable data printing systems to insure accuracy in the manufacturing process.
Whether your labeling needs are for branding, tracking, price marking or promotion ( possibly all combined in a composite set), let Flexo-Graphics design a cost saving composite set solution for you.
Attention Brand Owners - Hybrid Rotary Screen Labels are Designed for Response!
Flexo-Graphics is pleased to announce new "Hybrid Rotary Screen & Flexo Printing Combinations" for unigue package printing solutions.
Combination in-line printing allows Flexo-Graphics to offer increased opacity, image durability, vibrant colors, tactile feel via raised images, and high grade pictorial effects. Our process produces precise and reproducible ink transfer, high definition images and edge accuracy.
Rotary Screen Provides Labeling Versatility and Product "Feeling"
Increasing the visual appeal of a package or bottle is something all brand owners strive to achieve. Combination rotary screen and flexo printing offers a cost effective way to enhance brand images and add printing features. Features which attract a potential buyer to visually notice or actually touch your product.
- Spectacular underlying graphics with extra gloss and color brilliance
- Raised ink surfaces add to the touch and feel of your brand image
- Increased attraction to and perceived value of brand name products
- High impact printing for high impact packaging at an attractive cost
- Special inks - such as glow in the dark or thermochromic for greater product information such as temperature changes
What is Rotary Screen Printing?
Rotary screen printing uses a cylindrical screen that rotates in a fixed position on the rotary press. Rotary presses are designed for roll-to-roll (web) printing on flexible materials including films, various papers and textured products. In short, rotary printing is a continuous, stepless image-transfer method. The virtues of rotary screen printing are most apparent when the process is compared to traditional flat screen printing. Among the the biggest advantages of rotary screen printing is its production speed and thus attractive cost.
- used in many applications such as labels for cosmetics, personal care and beverage industries; flexible packaging, graphic overlays, and even promotional graphics
- an ideal process when high ink coverage, accuracy of detail and color strength are required to achieve brilliant, high grade pictorial effects.
The Value of Combination Printing
Combination printing allows designers to take advantage of the various ink-deposit and detail-resolution characteristics of different imaging methods, which vary considerably. With its heavy ink-deposit capabilities rotary screen delivers the most opaque and brilliantly colored prints in the combination printing system.
For this reason, rotary screen is used to apply high visibility images or undercoats in applications which will subsequently be printed with flexographic images or thermal transfer images. Rotary screen is also a good choice for halftones and specialty inks including metallic, thermochromic and electroluminescent.
Other Product Applications
- Tactile or raised printing for Braille or promotional applications
- Heavy laydowns of white ink on clear film for a "no label look" brand
- High gloss or embossed look (heavy varnish laydown)
- Scratch off inks or scented inks
Markets
- Health & Beauty - Food & Beverage
- Outdoor Products - Appliances
- Household Chemical - Industrial Overlays
- many, many others
If your product line includes labels, decals, industrial graphics or other applications which are produced roll-to-roll, you should find that rotary screen versatility is worth a look... or feel.
